Empire, Board reviews and explains question on contingency fund

by The 100 Companies

At the January annual meeting, owners questioned the $100 increase to the annual membership fee to $770 in 2023.

Some had questions about the purpose of the $8,730 contingency fund in the proposed budget. Board members explained that half of it was to pay for the expected new Flock security system ($4,000 for two cameras) and the balance was to start a fund in preparation for future repairs to roadways and the community dock.

Another question posed was had there been contingency budgets in previous budget years. After research, Empire Management reports that there was no contingency budgets in previous years.
