The Enclave’s HOA BOD Fonta Flora Trail committee is re-engaging Burke County employees overseeing the FFT following recent staff changes. Chair Amy Surrett is corresponding with new Trails Specialist Sarah Chabaane about construction progress.
Authorized in 2015, the FFT will connect Morganton to Asheville with a hiking and biking trail that includes a loop around Lake James. When complete it will be approximately 100 miles long.
Construction is still planned for The Enclave’s FFT easement this year with parking and trailhead installation postponed until 2027. The HOA BOD hopes to discourage a planned public “pocket park” adjacent to our community dock.
