I was wrong about squirrels in The Enclave

by The 100 Companies

It’s not easy being a squirrel. They don’t get a lot of love at city bird feeders or in the forest. A few issues ago, I mentioned I don’t see squirrels around The Enclave, presuming the crows, buzzards and hawks cleared them.

It’s not just predatory birds – cats, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons and snakes all enjoy dining at the squirrel nest. Yet the eastern gray squirrel is prolific and isn’t considered endangered or threatened.

Last month, a squirrel dropped by just to let me know they’re still around The Enclave. He kept one eye on me, one on the sky.
