Countless, nameless heroes helping neighbors recover

by The 100 Companies

Lake James’ water level was 94’ before Hurricane Helene blew through and it peaked at 110.7’ afterwards – rising more than 16 feet in one day. Several neighbors and board members were in The Enclave when the storm arrived and jumped into service.

Our 10-slip community dock was lifted up its columns and several elements were broken. Neighbors tied it – and many other Enclave docks – with ropes to keep the docks from floating off across the lake. Others grabbed chain saws and removed trees from streets. Power was out for eight days.

Our thanks go to many of these local heroes.
