Board Installs No Trespassing Signage Along Common Area

by Margaret Willard

A community group teamed up February 20 to improve signage along The Enclave’s Common Area bordering Lake James Road.

For decades, much of the land surrounding Lake James was leased to local residents who enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. Prior to its development, The Enclave’s lovely hills, woods and creeks made it a popular spot.

The volunteers installed yellow signs which clarified that The Enclave is now owner of the land and that hunting, fishing and other trespassing is no longer allowed. The group also painted purple stripes on trees – as outlined in NC law to protect private land.
